Chilton Mayor’s Charity
Every year the newly appointed Mayor & Deputy Mayor supported by fellow council members and the local community raise money for their chosen charity.
This year we have chosen to support two areas that are not only very close to our hearts, but we know directly impact our community.
- Chilton Toy Appeal: This year there will be families who have to make the difficult decision between heating their home, buying food and essential items or giving a gift to their children. We want to keep the magic alive by ensuring that every child and young person in Chilton has a gift to open on Christmas morning.
- Blood Cancer UK: Over 280,000 people of all ages are living with blood cancer ( leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma) 40,000 more are diagnosed each year. Funding for research has already increased the life expectancy for all types of blood cancer and with continued support there is confidence that we will be able to beat it!
We will be organising a number of events, fundraisers and fun activities throughout the year and hope you can join us in making a difference to the lives of those affected.
