  • The next meeting is the Annual Meeting of Chilton Town Council, scheduled for Tuesday, 14th May 2024, at 6 PM in Hutton House, Chilton.

Our Types of Meeting

  • Full Council

    • This is the overarching body responsible for decisions relating to the town.
    • Schedule: 2nd Tuesday of each month (except August).
  • Allotment Committee

    • Responsible for managing and allocating allotments, open spaces, and play areas.
    • Schedule: 3rd Monday of each month at 10:30 AM (except August).
  • Cemetery Committee

    • Oversees the management of the cemetery.
    • Schedule: 4th Tuesday of each month at 6 PM in Hutton House.
  • Policy and Resources Committee

    • Handles policy development, HR matters, and resource management for Hutton House and Council offices.
    • Schedule: 4th Tuesday of each month, after the Cemetery Committee meeting.
  • Community Committee

    • Engages with the community by organising events, consultations, celebrations, and neighborhood planning.
    • Schedule: 2nd Tuesday of each month, after the Full Council meeting.
  • Junior Town Council

    • Composed of young people from the town, including their own Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Councillors.
    • They are consulted on various council issues, make recommendations, and have a small budget for community projects.
  • Annual Meetings

    • Annual Town Assembly:
      • Held on the 13th May 2025 in the Church Hall, focusing on formal reporting to the electorate, including the annual financial audit.
    • Annual Town Council Meeting:
      • Held on the 6th May 2025, focusing on electing representatives such as the Chair (Mayor) and Vice Chair (Deputy Mayor).

Chilton Town Council - Meetings FAQs

What is the purpose of council meetings?

Council meetings are held to make decisions, discuss town-related issues, and plan community activities. Each type of meeting focuses on specific areas like policy, community engagement, or resource management.

 

Full Council Meetings: Address overarching decisions affecting the town.

Committee Meetings: Focus on specific areas like allotments, cemetery management, or community events.

Full Council meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, except in August.

The Allotment Committee manages the allocation of allotments and oversees open spaces and play areas. Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 10:30 AM (except August).

The Junior Town Council is made up of young residents, including a Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Councillors, elected by children of the town. They provide input on council decisions and manage a small budget for youth-focused projects.
