At its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 20th May 2025 Chilton Town Council unanimously appointed Councillor Sue Reece as Mayor and Chair of Council for 2025/26 and Councillor Pearl Malpas as Deputy Mayor.

The Council, made up of independent members, reaffirmed their commitment to its Vision & Mission to be a town that “seeks opportunity for future generations, while retaining pride in its local heritage” by “conserving Chilton and enhancing Chilton as an attractive and sustainable place to live, visit and do business.”

Members also took the opportunity to collectively pledge to operate under the Council core values to support residents, business and community groups with a strengthened emphasis on enhancing environmental sustainability and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

In a shared statement Cllr Reece and Cllr Malpas said “We are honoured to represent the Chilton community; our residents and businesses who not only value our strong heritage but are ambitious for delivering positive change for the future. We will work hard as a Council to support individuals and community groups to continue to provide opportunities that will enhance Chilton as a place to live, work, play and celebrate. We are excited for the year ahead.

As a Town Council we have responsibility for delivering local services to meet local needs, giving residents a voice and representation, improving quality of life and community wellbeing. This includes the management of allotments, open spaces, cemeteries and play areas, organising public events, protecting localheritage and delivering the Neighbourhood Plan.”
