VJ Day 80th Anniversary Service – Thank You for Joining Us
On 15th August 2025, the Town Council held a commemorative service at the Memorial outside Hutton House to mark the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day.
We were honoured to welcome members of the community who gathered at 11:55am to pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed during the Second World War. The service began just before noon and was a heartfelt moment of reflection and remembrance.
Following the service, guests were invited into Hutton House for refreshments and cake, where donations were kindly received. We’re pleased to share that all contributions will be shared equally between Help For Heroes and Combat Stress, supporting veterans and their families.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this a meaningful occasion.
