Our types of meeting
Full Council
This is the overarching body responsible for decisions relating to the town.
Schedule: 2nd Tuesday of each month, except August.
Allotment, Open Spaces and Cemetery Committee
Responsible for managing and allocating allotments, open spaces and cemetery matters.
Schedule: 3rd Monday of each month at 10:30 AM, except August.
Finance, Audit, Risk and Health & Safety Committee
Handles policy development, HR matters, and resource management for Hutton House and Council offices.
Schedule: 4th Tuesday of each month, after the Cemetery Committee meeting.
Community Committee
Engages with the community by organising events, consultations, celebrations and neighbourhood planning.
Schedule: 2nd Tuesday of each month, after the Full Council meeting.
Junior Town Council
Composed of young people from the town, including their own Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillors.
They are consulted on council issues, make recommendations and have a small budget for community projects.
Annual Meetings
Annual Town Assembly: Held in May, focusing on formal reporting to the electorate, including the annual financial audit.
Annual Town Council Meeting: Held in May, focusing on electing representatives such as the Chair and Vice Chair.
